Travel Tips

Six Tips for Traveling with Your Pets
There’s nothing like a road trip to kick start a vacation. Bringing your pets along makes it even more fun. If you're planning a trip with Fido, here's what you can do to help make the trip safe and enjoyable--and some offers to help you get safely on your way:

1.Dogs and cats need to be secured properly, both for their safety and yours. The first and best option is to crate your animal for the duration of the trip. For large animals, a more feasible option is to use a special harness that attaches to your vehicle's seatbelt. Crates and harnesses are available at your local pet store.
2.The ASPCA cautions against allowing pets to ride with their heads out the window of a moving vehicle. Not only do they risk being hit with a flying object, but they are also at risk of inner ear damage and lung infections.
3.The noises and movement from car travel make many pets anxious. This anxiety can be expressed through barking, shaking, excessive drooling or even vomiting. Prepare your pets for a long trip well before you plan to leave. Start slowly by getting them used to being in the car. Once they are a little more comfortable, condition them with short trips around the block, gradually extending the duration of these trips. If your pet still suffers car anxiety, talk to your veterinarian about medications. Also consider keeping stain and odor remover in the trunk, just in case of an accident.
4.Don't feed your pet right before you plan to leave. Instead, give him or her a light meal a few hours in advance. Never feed your pet in a moving vehicle.
5.Just as you will on a long trip, your pet will need periodic pit stops and stretch breaks, too. Bring along a leash, water and small treats, as well as a favorite toy the pet can play with for some exercise.
6.If you're planning overnight hotel stays, be sure to check in advance whether the hotel has pet-friendly policies.

Cooling System Services

Radiator Antifreeze/Coolant Service
Why is it important?
The engine cooling system in your vehicle circulates antifreeze through the engine and radiator. The antifreeze is formulated to prevent corrosion inside the cooling system and helps to maintain optimal engine operating temperature regardless of outside conditions. Replacing the antifreeze at regular intervals can help prevent overheating, freezing and premature cooling-system corrosion.
What is the service?
The old antifreeze is removed from your radiator and replaced with new antifreeze per your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.

Electrical System Services

Battery Maintenance Services
The battery supplies electrical power to the starter, along with the rest of the electrical components of the vehicle, which is necessary to start the engine. When the engine starts running, the charging system takes over to provide electricity to the various vehicle electrical systems. The battery cable terminals connect the battery to the electrical system.
A vehicle battery has several important functions, some of which are:
providing power to the starter motor, ignition system, fuel system and other electrical devices during engine starting
storing energy
providing power to the electronic components as required when the vehicle is off (e.g., digital radios, clocks, door locks, alarms, vehicle computers, etc)
Jiffy Lube® service centers offer a full line of battery maintenance and preventive services, including:

Windshield Wiper Replacement

Why is it important?
Windshield wiper blades are made of a soft rubber compound. Over time, the elements break down that compound and make it brittle. As this happens, your windshield wipers will leave streaks, potentially affecting your ability to see the road ahead and compromising your road safety.
What is the service?
With every Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change we inspect your wiper blades and let you know if they are cracked, split, torn or brittle indicating that it’s time for a replacement.
Please note: Not all Jiffy Lube® service centers offer all Windshield Services. Please call ahead to ensure the services are available.

The windshield repair service seals minor chips and cracks in the windshield by injecting a polymer into the damaged area.
The service includes:
