Do More™. Two simple words, one powerful rallying cry. At Jiffy Lube, we drive to Do More in our local communities by helping those who help others. Through this cause, we are honoring volunteers who use their vehicles to make a difference, whether it is driving a cancer patient to the hospital for treatment or delivering a hot meal to a family in need. By providing these volunteers with a year’s worth of vehicle maintenance services, Jiffy Lube can help keep them on the road so they can continue to Do More.

We are proud to celebrate a local Utah hero, Jan McConnell and her work with ShelterKid’s Milestone Transitional Living Program which provides housing for young adults as they transition to living independently

ShelterKids is dedicated to assisting young victims of abuse, neglect, or foster care disruption. With the help of donations, ShelterKids provide emergency residential care, temporary housing, counseling and preventative services to help kids transition into a more stable living situation.

Vehicle maintenance is easy to neglect. Daily life gets busy and time seems to fly. By the time you know it, it’s been 5 months since your vehicle has seen any maintenance. If you struggle to keep up with your regular maintenance schedule, you are not alone. In a recent study done by the Car Care Council, 84 percent of vehicles on the road are in the need of service or parts.

What Oil is What?

The “Check Engine” light on your dashboard illuminates. You look up and realize you’ve passed the mileage on your oil change sticker. It’s time to visit your nearest Jiffy Lube for a Signature Service Oil Change. But you know when you get there they’ll ask you what oil you want, and because you’ve never really known the difference, you’ve always had conventional because it was the cheapest. So what is the difference?

There are four types of oils to choose from: Conventional, High Mileage, Synthetic Blend and Synthetic. Some vehicles require synthetic oil (BMWs, Audis and some Subarus, among others), so be sure to check if your vehicle has any requirements.

Jiffy Lube Fuel System Cleaning Service

Our Fuel System Cleaning Service will help dislodge and remove deposits of dirt and varnish on intake valves and cylinder heads—the very places you need to keep clean in your fuel system. The end result is a cleaner fuel system.

Every time a vehicle’s driver presses the gas pedal, they are controlling how much fuel and air the engine takes in. The pedal tells the throttle valve how much air to let in and the computer tells the fuel system how much fuel to deliver. These calculated amounts of air and fuel are typically mixed together before being sucked into the combustion chamber of an engine cylinder. There the spark plug ignites the mixture, producing the controlled burn that powers the vehicle.

When to Check Your Oil

One point we want to drive home to our readers is that motor oil truly is the lifeblood of your vehicle. Too many vehicle problems and breakdowns are caused by poor oil habits. One habit that we should all pick up is to check our oil every other time we get gas. Even in newer vehicles, your oil level is going to get low, it is just a matter of time. So, every other time you find yourself at the pump, just follow the following procedure for an accurate reading of your oil level.
