It’s the Perfect Time for Fall Car Care

Fall is here! This time of year can be exciting and stressful. To relieve some of the pressure as fall weather starts to pick up, here are some things you can do to maintain your vehicle and eliminate any unwanted worry.

Windshield Wipers: After a season of dry hot weather, be sure to replace worn blades and keep your windshield washer solvent flowing. As the wet weather starts, make sure your wipers are ready to go for a rainy day. 

Brakes: The roads will start to become slick in the next couple months with rainfall. Make sure your brakes are ready to stop you. First, get your brakes inspected. This includes a visual inspection of your brake system, measurements of the brake pads and provides a service recommendation. If your brake pads are worn down, get them replaced before you're in a slippery situation. 

Filters: Filters are very important. They keep your car clean and the air you breathe in your car clean. A filter change is a quick fix to poor ventilation in your vehicle. Have a Jiffy Lube specialist check your cabin air filters, for longevity of your climate system; engine air filters to ensure your engine can breathe; fuel filters and transmission filters to ensure optimal performance.

Oil Change: Though you should already consistently check your oil, the season change is a good reminder to look. After a busy summer, fall is about to get busier, so, come in and check before you forget. If your oil’s color is amber but is low, top it off. If it’s black, change it completely!

Tire Check: First, check your tire pressure. With the weather starting to cool down, the change in temperature changes the pressure in your tires. Make sure your tires have the optimal tire pressure for your vehicle. Next, check your tires for wear. If the tread is wearing unevenly, go to your nearest service station to get a tire rotation. If your tread is worn out, replace your tires with new ones as soon as possible.
